Ans.  India is a  vast country. It has a great variety of land forms like mountains, forests, desert lakes,

rivers, valleys and plateau.Many religions, cultures and traditions people live together with

harmony.It makes India a unique country.

2. Write two main features of each of the following :  

• The Himalayas --  It is situated in the Northern part of India. The  high peaks cover with snow throughout the year

 • Northern Plains --  It is a fertile land, hence many crops grow here. It is thickly populated.

• Thar Desert -- It is a barren and sandy land. Located mostly in Rajasthan ,the area receives very little rainfall.

. Deccan Plateau -- The Deccan Plateau is also known as the Southern Plateau.  It is triangular in shape.

3. Name three holy places located in the Northern Plains . 

Ans.  Haridwar, Mathura and Prayag are three holy places located in the Northern Plains.

4. Describe the Lakshadweep Island .

Ans.   Lakshadweep Islands are in the Arabian Sea in the south west of India.  They are small and flat

and only 36 in number.They are close to the mainland.

5. List four features of your state that you admire . Give two reasons in support of your answer . 

Ans.  The people of Bihar are very laborious.

The soil of this state  is very fertile.

The climate of Bihar is very favourable and good.

  Many rivers flow in our state.

  I like Bihar because I enjoy all seasons and it is very easy to survive.

6. In your opinion why is there a difference in temperature on the mountains and deserts ? 

Ans.   In mountain areas lands are covered with snow throughout the year. So the temperature of in this area is always low.

The desert area receives very little rainfall. So the temperature of in this area is always high.
